A mentoring program
Keep oil in your lamp.
Some seasons of life run out of fuel. Oil for the Lamp is a simple way to fill back up with the help of a mentor, and then to help someone else do the same.
Available as a demonstration. Pilot invitations are made by coordinators only.

Where the name comes from
The name comes from the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25. The wise ones kept oil in their lamps, and so they were ready when it mattered. The program's first habit is the same: keep fuel in reserve and renew it every day.
The program's founder framed it in faith, and the material it draws on can be religious or secular. Anyone may take part, whatever their faith or none. Nobody is asked about religion or church membership.
Three tiers
Get fueled
Time with a mentor, learning, and spiritual practice or quiet reflection. Two deliberate hours a day. Everything else runs on it.
Live your life
Sleep, work, meals, money, exercise, friends. You don't have to be perfect, only a little more organized each week.
Give back
When your mentor says you are ready: simple service first, then helping someone else the way you were helped.
Who it is for
People who were once doing well and have slipped, through addiction, a mental health struggle or a life that has come apart, and who want a way back. And the steady people who are willing to walk with them.
A mentor is a volunteer: a steady friend with a plan. Oil for the Lamp complements professional care and never replaces it. If you need a doctor or counselor, your mentor will encourage you to see one.
